Right now, the only DVD options are TV transfer disc bootleg sets,
easily available on eBay. Quality of the picture and sound is pretty bad
(the one I bought said "C8" quality, but I'd put it closer to 4 or 5), but
some of the packages are pretty decently put-together.

Dave Van Domelen, also has 'em all on tape, but since the show didn't
show in order....

Usually hear so much about the guys behind this show having to be
inspired by several Japanese programs like Macross or such to produce
this.

You just wish they did.

Best I have is the two laserdisc releases containing about 4-5 episodes
each, so I have BETTER quality than those DVD bootlegs! :-)

They wanted Sunrise, who did Gundam, to do the animation but it was out
of their budget range. Sunrise did do the closing credits, though.

Somehow I didn't know that. I'll have to check the closing sequence
soon! Too bad the opening sequence wasn't animated too. While I would
like to say the animation wasn't all that interesting, the writing was a
bit more further than what most US cartoons by that point in time might
pursue, and it did click a lot of people into this as well as anime
itself (or vice versa, not really sure).

At least I'm not gonna bother with doing up a web peitition to get this
show on DVD, too much effort with minimal results (someone probably has
that planned anyway).

I have been tempted to get one of these, along with a Daria set, but
have resisted so far. That you've confirmed the bad picture quality has
probably saved me money :)

That's the usual risk in obtaining bootlegs. I wouldn't mind so much
unless these episodes happen to be uncut or taken from the original MTV
broadcasts rather than the later repeats on "The N" that ripped them to
shreads. Most occasions these copies tend to variated depending on the
source material provided. Either it's transferred from a video tape, or
perhaps taken from an AVI that has to be converted over to MEPG-2 and
all that. I find it much better off downloading this stuff online than
pay for it given how easy it is these days.

When it comes to a show that has yet to be released on DVD and with
little hope for such a release, you tend to have opposing sides among
fans. Those of us that would buy and produce pirated editions for
ourselves, and those that would stick it out, while maintaining
letter-writing campaigns and web petitions. Both practically are
useless unless there wasn't a lucky shot our voices will be answered by
those that own the properties. I just don't think Exo Squad would ever
get a DVD release of any kind given it's limited status with only those
loyal fans that would care for such a show. In a simular way, the Daria
fans would still get squeezed by MTV over their wishes for a perfect
collection as well.

i found someone who sells all of them on dvd, but it's like 50 bucks. i
wouldnt mind spending that on an actual set, but yeah i know the
quality isn't so good. it's just really frustrating. i loooved this
show, it was on when i was in 4th or 5th grade or so, and i had a
million e-frame toys. they were my favorite. but i guess i highly doubt
it will ever be officially released. sad face.

Don't do it, Brittany!

I love Exo-Squad more than you, and I would never pay some snake 50
bucks just to complete my pitiful collection, or upgrade the picture
quality from the grainy, antenna-delivered EP-quality recordings I made
a decade ago. (It's the reason I didn't pay upwards of 80 bucks for
the live-action series, Profit, despite being unaware of a potential
DVD release this year.)

I would highly recommend making friends with fellow Able Squad junkies
(Hi!), and waiting. Sign some petitions. Get some kind souls to lend
you their video tapes. Wait. You'll be happier, wealthier, and far
more satisfied with the end result.

eBay could NEVER promise you that.

old :)

I haven't seen my incomplete collection of Exosquad episodes in years,
so there's hope that seeing posts such as yours won't make me give in
and watch them again. For another week or so :)

Stop that. Showing an undue willingness to spend large sums of money
for admittedly great entertainment is not cool. Join us in the
nonsense that is animation appreciation; everything you could possibly
want will come in time.

Terrence Briggs, watching G.I. Joe's 100-minute premiere. Shockingly
competent. Good even.

DVD last month...the local station's antenna went fratz halfway through and
they never reran it.

For one, brief, shining moment... ExoSquad was streaming for free on Peacock. in 720. in Stereo. As the goddess intended.

Welp... at least I got to see the final dozen episodes without antenna ghosting and pixel crawling interference.

Terrence Briggs, who was there when producer Will Meugniot told Facebook that he's moving on, and no longer interested in an ExoSquad revival. Maybe you shouldn't go home again.

Huzzah! And shown in story order, too, unlike broadcast which kinda
scrambled things because of (I presume) production delays.

At least it had a solid ending. Sure, there were unresolved
cliffhangers, but those were setup for the next story arc, the existing
storyline was wrapped up in a satisfying fashion.

Dave Van Domelen, unlike Spiral Zone which sort of petered out into clip
shows and recycling at the end.
