Kid saying "Dick" at the end of cartoons
(too old to reply)

I remember that at the end of a lot of cartoons, there would be this brief clip with a kid staring out at the window into the night sky, and then shouting "Dick!". Was this supposed to signify that he saw a phallic constellation? That's certainly an oddly naughty segment to put at the end of a children's cartoon. And people say Steve Harvey's Family Feud is bad...

The company that created that bumper should have been shut down.

As usual, it's a complete load of nonsense (although there could well
be a knock-off / parody version around).

For a start the kid is asleep in bed, not looking out the window. The
distribution company was called "DIC Entertainment Corporation",
usually shortened to just "Dic". That scene was simply the final
credits scene announcing that company.

The British quiz show "The Chase" (not sure about the American and
Australian versions) has a similar company credit at the end with a
potato dropping onto a couch / sofa and the voice-over simply saying
"Potato".

I remember that Chase logo! There's a variant where Bill Cullen tosses the logo at the screen. It is a funny!

Oh yeah, he was asleep, I forgot. Must have been having a wet dream then. The rest of that info is Nazi garbage though.

Yeah, come to think of it, they were the same ones that had an on-screen message saying "Die" at the end of some of their older shows. Usually it was in a creepy shade of green on a blue background, but sometimes they'd have a character like Inspector Gadget or one of the Littles delivering the message. Really messed up stuff.

Thanks for letting me know. :)

By the way, there was a version of the "Dick" clip with the kid awake and looking out the window! I remember seeing it!
